About the teacher
B.S. Molecular Genetics
M.Ed. Science Education
Kimberly Edgar is an education veteran. While attending graduate school at the University of Missouri, she taught Introductory Biology and Microbiology. She received her Master’s Degree in Education. In the process of receiving her degree, she gave birth to her first child, Dustin, who she homeschooled from kindergarten until he graduated from high school. She also homeschooled her daughter, Abbey, for her entire educational career. In addtion to teaching middle school and high school level courses, she still provides assistance to her two children (well, three if you count her son-in-law, and she would) in their education, so she never really stopped homeschooling!
Kim is passionate about education, both her own and furthering education for others. Her house is covered in books on every subject: from crafting to science to Bible Study. She spends countless hours over the summer, researching and gleaning new knowledge. She spends many hours preparing lectures and homework materials to make sure that she conveys the most important information to her students. Kim’s time and effort prove to offer a caliber of education that is invaluable in both the knowledge itself and the skills for life acquired throughout the course.
“Do you want your kids to be ready for college courses yet have an amazing amount of fun in the process? If the answer is yes (and it should be), then you definitely want your kids to take Kim Edgar’s science courses.
“I know a young man who is expecting to go to Medical School after college, and he said Miss Kim’s science courses made his first year university courses EASY. I know my son’s first year college science courses were much easier because of her classes. In his first semester of college chemistry, he got an ‘A’ with minimal studying. This course is known as being especially challenging for the average college student.
“Miss Kim is such a fantastic science teacher. She is well organized and amazingly creative. She loves science! She loves to learn but she also loves to have fun, and makes learning science fun for kids of all ages.”

“As a full-time college student at the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology (New Mexico Tech), I most certainly appreciate the real-world experience I gained from Miss Kim’s classes. The presentations made me grow comfortable presenting to a large group. I learned how to study effectively in order to succeed. I became accustomed to being held accountable for large amounts of information, and the weekly quizzes helped me stay on top of the work. Building this valuable skill set has served me well in my post-secondary education. I would recommend all of her classes, especially if you love science!”
