Physical Science
This middle school course introduces physics concepts in the first semester, including inertia, momentum, gravity, and simple machines. Students will build a variety of contraptions to demonstrate key concepts. The second semester covers all the basics of chemistry and culminates in the famed “sludge test,” in which students work independently to determine the ingredients in personalized containers of “sludge.” (This course is also appropriate for 9th graders!)
